October 10th is World Mental Health Day
Today October 10th is World Mental Health Day 2023 with a theme “Mental health is a universal human right”. The day provides an opportunity for people and communities to improve knowledge, raise awareness, and drive actions that promote everyone’s mental health as a universal human right.
On World Mental Health Day, let’s remind ourselves of the importance of mental well-being in our professional and personal lives. Good mental health is an integral part of our overall health and well-being. It plays an important role in our day-to-day life and therefore also in our ability to work. Yet one in eight people globally are living with mental health conditions which can impact their well-being and livelihoods1. Unfortunately, mental health conditions are also affecting an increasing number of adolescents and young people1.
Taking care of the continuous development of both well-being and skills of our employees is highly important at Aidian. Our employees are our most important asset and every Aidian employee has the right to be treated well and with respect. Therefore, also promoting good mental health is of high importance for us. Aidian has been granted the right to use Mental Health Friendly Workplace (Hyvän mielen työpaikka®) label in recognition of our commitment to mental health. Some of the concrete actions we take to promote and protect mental health include:
- a mind-friendly leadership style and a positive organizational culture
- close cooperation with occupational health care
- investing in the mental health competence of immediate supervisors, as immediate supervisors play a significant role in the well-being of the work community
Let's ensure our workspace remains a safe and supportive environment for all.
